Cosplay Contest


Join us on the main stage as we showcase YOUR costumes! All genres are welcome, including film, television, theater, comics, video games, sci-fi, anime, horror and original creations! The stakes are high this year, with prizes in with three main categories: Epic Group and Epic Individual!

This year we are pleased to announce our new Tetris Category! The show is free to attend by all convention goers.

How to register:  There is a maximum limit in each category, so be sure to sign up soon and secure your spot. Keep in mind that registration is on a first come-first served basis only. Be sure to read all the rules carefully and thoroughly HERE. You must download and complete your entry form located HERE and send it to cosplay@comikazeexpo.com. You must also attach one photo of your costume along with your entry form: this may be a sketch, photograph, screen cap, picture from a comic book, etc. Whatever the image is, make sure it's the best possible representation of what your final costume will be. You must submit your entry form by October 1st 2014! There will be no sign ups after October 1st 12:00am PST. Bear in mind that there will be a waiting list in case of any cancellations between October 1st and October 31st. If we encounter any cancellations or no-shows the weekend of the event, we may be able to add "walk ups" to the show, but remember that that is NOT GUARANTEED!

Where and when: November 1st, Main stage 6pm (tentatively). Check-in and pre-judging will begin promptly at 4pm in a designated area behind the stage. Be sure to be on time as the show must start at 6pm and there will be NO LATE ENTRIES allowed once pre-judging ends. Check back for more times on pre-judging hours.  

Judges and hosts: While we will not announce the judges at this time, know that the judges are selected from fine women and men in the cosplay and costuming communities who excel at craftsmanship and design and with extensive backgrounds in costuming. Our hosts will be spotlighted and well-known cosplay personalities from on-screen media to published work in the community who are not only engaging but also entertaining.

Prizes: Best Epic Group: $2,500 in cash, each member of the group gets one weekend ticket for Stan Lee's Comikaze 2015.  

Epic 1st place individual: $2,500 in cash, One Weekend Ticket for Stan Lee’s Comikaze 2014.

Epic 2nd place individual: Treasures untold and prizes galore, along with two Weekend Tickets For Stan Lee’s Comikaze 2015.

Epic 3rd place individual: Treasures untold and prizes galore, along with two Weekend Tickets For Stan Lee’s Comikaze 2015.
